The Laboratory of the Theory of Fundamental Interactions studies modern aspects of fundamental physics: the theory of gravity and its applications to the early quantum Universe and to the dark energy and dark matter problems; nonperturbative approaches to electrodynamics in strong fields with applications to condensed matter physics and astrophysics; quantum mechanical problems with singular potentials; supergeometry methods in general gauge field theories and quantization, theories on manifolds with boundary, asymptotic symmetries, higher-spin fields, and string field theory; exact methods for studying two-dimensional quantum systems based on their symmetries, and applications to the theory of integrable systems
